Bulldogs wrestle in Hulett and Newcastle

The Bulldogs wrestling team hit the mats twice this weekend as they competed in Hulett and Newcastle. Opening the week in Hulett, all Bulldog grapplers added a win to their personal records.

Lyman Halverson and Keaton Mayberry were 2-0 for the night while teammates Tel Marchant, Wudzie Zaato and Kale Harless went 2-1. Cash Peterson was 1-2 on the night and Shyla Shoun rounded out the Bulldog wrestlers with a 1-0 record.

The wrestlers traveled to Newcastle over the weekend to compete in the Dogie Invitational. There was tough competition at the Invite as the Bulldogs were competing against wrestlers from larger schools.

Lyman Halverson had a strong start to his day, winning his opening match by fall. After a tough loss in the second round, he bounced back with an impressive victory over Adrian Lara from Thunder Basin. Halverson ultimately finished the invite with a 2-2 record after a hard-fought fourth match.

Another standout performance came from Wudzie Zaato, who bounced back after an opening-round loss. Facing tough competition, Zaato defeated three consecutive opponents from larger schools in a display of resilience and skill before narrowly falling short in his final match.

Other Bulldog wrestlers also had notable efforts throughout the Dogie Invitational. Kale Harless ended the day with a 2-2 record, while Cash Peterson and Keaton Mayberry ended the invite 0-2.

The Lady Bulldogs traveled to Shoshone to compete in the Clash at the Crossroads. Both Lady Bulldogs had an impressive showing as Shyla Shoun went 2-3 for the day and took a 2nd place finish, while teammate Savanah Peterson went 1-3 and took a 3rd place finish.

The Bulldog wrestlers will stay close to home this week as they compete in Moorcroft on Friday and Saturday.
