Legislative Update

In 2020, our state and nation witnessed an explosion in government the likes of which few living Americans have ever before seen.

Here in Wyoming, unelected state employees – who most of us never knew existed – exercised power we never knew we gave them. The Governor, through his appointed State Health Officer, shut the doors of small businesses, locked kids out of schools and left our loved ones and friends to suffer alone in hospital rooms and nursing homes.

For many of us, including myself, that was enough. I, along with folks who have become some of my closest friends, decided to run for office to return power to the people. The 2020 primary election cycle saw a handful of flipped seats, and the conservative surge in Wyoming was born.

Today, what began as a group of eight conservative Republicans in the Wyoming House has been quadrupled, and I’m grateful to the people of Wyoming for that. The normal people who were once sniveled at by their elected representatives are now the ones wearing the legislator pin – the way it’s supposed to be.

The Wyoming Freedom Caucus and our conservative allies now constitute a majority in the lower chamber, and it’s critical that we govern like it when the Legislature convenes next week. That means that we should pass legislation that the people want – which is what we’re set to do.

After campaigning all summer and fall and learning what’s important to our neighbors, the WYFC conducted a statewide poll. As it turns out, the issues important to our neighbors were also important to most Wyomingites: election integrity, immigration accountability, fighting back against the woke agenda and property tax relief.

That’s where our Five and Dime plan came from.

If you read mainstream press reporting on our plan, you’d think it was handed down from some unspecified but certainly evil overlords. As usual, the press is lying to you.
