Christmas Eve arrest made for aggravated assault

A Pine Haven man was arrested for aggravated assault on Christmas Eve after allegedly attempting to break into a residence while making threats towards the occupant.

A Crook County Sheriff’s Office deputy was called to a Pine Haven residence at around 10:15 p.m. on December 24 for a report of a male subject attempting to get into the residence.

The subject was identified as William Bradley Jr., who had left the house a few days prior after a physical altercation. He allegedly arrived back at the house yelling and calling the female victim names, kicking the front and back doors in an attempt to enter.

According to the victim, Bradley had returned to his car and come back with something in his hand, then attempting to enter through the dog door. When she asked what was in his hand, he replied to the effect that once he got inside, she would find out.

This part of the conversation was allegedly audible to dispatch during the 911 call.

The victim told the deputy that Bradley had stated he was going to kill her and said she feared for her safety.

When he spoke to Bradley, the deputy reports he could smell the odor of alcohol and detected slurred speech. Bradley allegedly stated that he and the victim had just been fighting.

Bradley claimed that the object the victim had observed in his hand was a screwdriver. The deputy located a screwdriver in the porch area, which was where Bradley was met by the first Wyoming Highway Patrol officer who arrived at the house.

Bradley was placed under arrest for breach of peace. Upon further investigation and due to the threats made while he was holding the screwdriver, he was also charged with aggravated assault.

Bradley has been charged with a felony count of aggravated assault (attempt to cause serious bodily injury) and a misdemeanor count of breach of the peace.
