Mary Ann Jundt

Mary Ann Jundt, 79, went to be with Jesus on Monday, December 9, 2024 with her family by her side at her home in Sundance, Wyoming.

Mary Ann was born in Hoven, South Dakota on October 6, 1945 to Louis and Margaret (Simon) Hilsendager. She spent her early childhood years on a farm near Watauga, South Dakota and in Eugene, Oregon. She later returned to Aberdeen, South Dakota where she attended school and worked at the hospital. This is where she met her future husband Dwight "Woody" Jundt. The two began their beautiful 59-year marriage on June 5, 1965 in Spearfish, South Dakota. Upon Dwight's graduation from college the couple relocated to Sundance, where they made their home for the next 27 years. They later moved to Baggs, Wyoming and Livingston, Montana but returned to Sundance upon Dwight's retirement.

Mary Ann spent countless hours working in their wood shop and various other jobs but the most important role to her was raising her two children David and Josh. Mary Ann was a devoted member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Sundance where she taught Sunday school, was active in the Ladies Guild and loved planting and tending the flowers in the church's memorial garden. Mary Ann's love for the Lord and others was evident throughout her life.

Mary Ann was skilled at woodworking and enjoyed sharing her talent at craft shows. She also loved gardening and time spent at the local farmer's market. One of her favorite things to do was to go four-wheeling in the Hills but was always happiest when spending time with and taking care of her family.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Dwight; sons David (Tracey) and Josh (Tammy); grandsons, Tyler (Tessa) and Luke; granddaughter, Taitlyn (Peter); seven great-grandchildren; her brothers, Anthony and Leo and her sister, Jean as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Jeremiah; brothers, Donald and James and sisters, Diane and Joan.
