November 20, 1924

The preliminary hearing of William Osgood, charged with first degree murder for the killing of James Storm on Nov. 4 at New Haven, was held Saturday afternoon before Justice George W. Ashdown. Three witnesses were called by the state, Lawrence Cochrun, J. L. Bostwick and E. P. Storm. On the conclusion of case, the defendant was held for trial before the district court without bonds. Unless a special term of court is called, Osgood's trial will take place in May. The state was represented at the hearing by Metz & Metz of Sheridan and County Attorney MeGuckin, the defendant by Dan McCutcheon and L. M. Simon of Belle Fourche and Otis Reynolds of Sundance.

November 17, 1949

Plans for a combined night-lighted baseball-football field for the county fairgrounds in Sundance were being pushed this week by members of several civic groups. The drive was revived after being sidetracked by plans for other fairground improvements last spring. A meeting of interested persons and representatives of various civic organizations will be called soon to discuss ways and means of securing support for the project. According to those pushing the drive, the area between the highway and the fairgrounds road west of the race track will be developed.

Richard Engelhaupt was elected president of the Bear Lodge 4-H club Sunday. The club reorganized at a meeting held at the Engelhaupt home. Other officers named at the meeting were: Carol Ann Reynolds, vice-president; Mary Ann Chaffin, secretary; Evelyn Engelhaupt, treasurer; Joan Keyser, news reporter; Ben K. Sager, recreation leader; Larry Keyser, historian; Eugene Keyser, health chairman; Maxine Peterson, song leader; Robert Policky, parliamentarian.

November 19, 1999

Junior running back/line-backer Nate Denzin was recently selected to the Wyoming 1A Division All-State Football team. "This is well deserved. Nate is a hard worker," said Coach Lance Hofland, noting that Denzin played an outstanding season for the Sundance Bulldogs despite being injured.
