November 13, 1924

Arrangements are being made to give a grand Thanksgiving ball at the Grice hall in Sundance. The dancing public will bear this in mind and make their plans for a good time.

Revival services are being conducted at the Methodist church each evening this week. Rev. Schuelke is assisted by Rev. Peckinpaugh of Upton and Rev. Weary of Newcastle.

John Sempsey, mail contractor on the Spearfish line, met with a serious mishap Wednesday morning when his Dodge truck caught fire near the Gould ranch. Although the blaze was extinguished in short order, the front end of the car was badly damaged and rendered useless.

The preliminary hearing of William Osgood, charged with the killing of James Storm at New Haven on election day, will take place at 1:30 next Saturday before Judge Ashdown. The prosecution will be conducted by County Attorney James T. McGuckin, assisted by Judge W. S. Metz of Sheridan, while the defendant will be represented by Dan McCutcheon of Belle Fourche.

November 10, 1949

Charles Oudin, Crook County, livestock inspector, announced Wednesday the appointment of Amos Ewing as county brand inspector for the Seely area. Mr. Ewing will take over the post of Ed Foster who resigned last week.

The Rev. Clifford Jervis recently accepted the Devils Tower Baptist Larger Parish, it was disclosed here last week. Until he came to Crook County, Rev. Jervis had served a church in Indiana. He assumed his duties in October. Rev. and Mrs. Jervis and their two children will make their home in Hulett.
