Judith Ann Wood

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Judith Ann Wood (Wadsworth), a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, who departed from this world on October 4, 2024 at the age of 84.

Judy was born in Deadwood, South Dakota, to Ruth (Mehlberg) and Walter Wadsworth. Her early years were spent in Lead, South Dakota.

Her father was stationed with the U.S. Cavalry at Ft Meade. After her parents' divorce, her mother married Eric Nyberg. The family then moved to San Diego area where her sister, Sandy was born.

Her father later married Doris, adding a brother, Curtis, and a sister, Diana.

Judy grew up in San Diego, California. She fondly recalled her baptism in Deadwood, South Dakota and cherished summers spent visiting her Mehlberg relatives in Wyoming. During this time, she went to a dance and met Clarence Borgialli.

In August of 1958, Judy married Clarence Borgialli in a beautiful glass church in California. They settled on the Borgialli family ranch near Newcastle, Wyoming, where they raised three children: Belinda Lee, Jay Dean and Deneen Darlene.

While nurturing her family, Judy was an active community member, participating in bowling, 4-H leadership, Rebekah Lodge and square dancing. She worked at the local meat processing plant during hunting season and took a role as an auditor for the county.

She became known for her remarkable baking and cake decorating skills, creating many wedding cakes for family and friends.

In 1982, after her marriage to Clarence ended, Judy found love again with George Wood, whom she married in September, 1992. This union brought three more children into her life: Kristy, Denise and Doug.

Judy continued her passions, including cake decorating, bookkeeping for Wyoming Gas and working at Alberts Variety.

Judy had a deep appreciation for the beauty of the countryside and loved taking scenic drives. Her hobbies included crocheting, for which she created cherished Afghan blankets for her grandchildren, and spending quality time with her family, especially her 24 great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.

Judy is survived by her devoted husband, George Wood; her sisters, Sandy (James) Walker and Diana Wadsworth; her children, Belinda Townsend (Mark), Jay Borgialli (RaDona) and Deneen Shadakofsky (Daniel); her stepchildren, Kristy Slack, Denise Annaloro and Douglas Wood; and her beloved grandchildren: Jennie Kay Budd, Jorge Budd, James Townsend (Krista), Tylor Townsend, Katie Woulfe (Marty), Bryan Borgialli (Ashley), Kyle Borgialli (Sarah), Matthew Roberts (Rikki), Brandon Shadakofsky (Cati) and Danielle Eyres (Josh).

Judy's warmth, creativity and unwavering love will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. A celebration of her life will be held on October 19, 2024, at 1 p.m. at the Christ the King in Newcastle. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Christ the King.

Rest in peace, Judy. Your spirit lives on in the hearts of those you loved.
