October 16, 1924

If you didn't get your deer by last night, it is too late now for the season closed the 15th. But you can hunt grouse for the next 30 days, bag limit four and not more than four in the skillet any time.

The (Hulett) blacksmith shop belonging to Red Tate burned with all the Smithy tools Wednesday, with great effort the Mercantile store was saved from the flame.

Charley Hauber was badly hurt in a car accident, Frank Mankie was with him at the time of the accident.

October 13, 1949

Preliminary work for the construction of a Catholic church in Sundance was recently completed. Survey work on the location of the proposed church has been done. Officials in charge of the drive for the construction of the church announced that the site of the building is east of the Sundance ranger station. The land has been donated by Todd Seely of Sundance.

Sundance has a lot of work to do if it is to have a new Methodist church, according to the announcement of the Rev. Charles W. Roberts, pastor of the church. Rev. Roberts disclosed this week that the church must have $15,000 on hand before construction of a new church can be started. Cost of the church is estimated at $30,000.

State Superintendent of Public Instruction Judy Catchpole recently announced the six finalists for the Wyoming Teacher of the Year Recognition Program. Included on the list is Bernie Schnorenberg, Sundance High School science and math teacher.

Tammy Needham, a third grade teacher at Sundance Elementary, is a state finalist for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science and Mathematics Teaching. Ms. Needham, a graduate of the University of Wyoming, is in her eighth year of teaching in the Crook County school district.
