Continuing the Crook County News Since 1884
The Upton-Sundance Patriots were back on the football field last week as they traveled to Newcastle to face the Dogies. It was a tough go for the Patriots, who, in the end, fell 48-6.
The Dogies started the game out strong, scoring twice within the first quarter, taking an early 13-0 lead. The Patriots were able to get on the board throughout the second quarter as Kade Mills connected with Eli Gill, sending him into the end zone, and putting six points on the board for the US Patriots.
Unfortunately for the Bulldogs, the Newcastle offense continued to push their way into the end zone, scoring three more times before the half and taking a 24-6 lead into the break. The Dogies did not let up throughout the second half, putting two more scores on the board and taking the 48-6 win for the night.
The team is looking for a Sundance Homecoming victory this week as they host Wheatland on Friday at 6 p.m. There will be a community meal starting at 5 p.m. at Croell Field.
