It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Carol Lee Sisson on August 22, 2024, in Sundance, Wyoming, at the Sundance Long Term Care Facility. Carol was 86 years old.
Born on July 12, 1938, in Gillette, Wyoming, to John and Marguerite Kummerfeld, Carol graduated from Moorcroft High School in 1956. She married the love of her life, Edwin Sisson, on September 20, 1959, in Worland, Wyoming. Together, they raised three beloved sons: Mark, Dwayne and Leslie Sisson.
Carol spent many fulfilling years as a teachers aid and secretary for John Kummerfeld and Sons. She found immense joy in raising her three boys and was deeply involved in their lives.
An active member of the Presbyterian Church, Carol was also passionate about the West Texas Trails Museum, dedicating time and effort to preserving local history.
Carol is survived by her sons: Mark (Wanda), Dwayne (Trena) and Leslie (Jody); her three brothers: Gary, Jim and Jerry Kummerfeld and their families; nieces, nephews, nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 64 years, Edwin Sisson.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Sundance Long Term Care Facility and niece Arna Montgomery for the exceptional care given to Carol Lee.
Carol's warm spirit, dedication to her family and passion for her community will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Moorcroft.
In lieu of flowers financial contributions in memory of Carol can be made to the Presbyterian Church in Moorcroft, WY 100 S. Belle Fourche Ave.
