A woman who was arrested in 2021 for theft after allegedly holding a citizen’s firearm “hostage” and demanding money in exchange for returning it has had her probation revoked and sentence reimposed.
The theft charge resulted from a report of a stolen gun from a Pine Haven homeowner, who said he had met Lisa Ingalls in Arizona and allowed her to stay at his house for a few weeks while she looked for a job in this area.
Ingalls allegedly left to return to Arizona to retrieve her last paycheck and, shortly afterwards, the homeowner noticed a firearm was missing. Ingalls allegedly claimed she took it for protection.
Ingalls then allegedly made repeated requests for money and said she would not return the firearm unless the homeowner complied.
In August, Ingalls was accused of violating a number of terms of her probation. The violations allegedly included failing to complete outpatient treatment and a counseling needs assessment, maintain a phone, report to her probation officer, stay away from places where alcohol is the main item of sale, avoid consumption of alcohol and submit to the extraction of body substances such as blood and saliva for testing.
Ingalls admitted to the two violations involving alcohol, which involved a report from law enforcement dated June 28, 2024 that she was in an establishment selling alcohol and was consuming alcohol.
In exchange, the court agreed to dismiss without prejudice the remaining violations.
Ingalls has credit for 269 days served in the Crook County Detention Center against this sentence. The original split sentence of three years of supervised probation was reimposed by Judge Matthew F.G. Castano.
