NOVEMBER 5, 2024 – GENERAL ELECTION DAY

October 21, 2024, is the last day to register to vote with the County Clerk or City Clerk. Voter Registration is permitted at the polls on General Election Day. Proof of identity is required to register to vote.

If you require assistance to vote by reason of blindness, disability, or inability to read or write, you may be given assistance by a person of your choice. Also, if you have questions regarding the accessibility of your polling place, please contact your County Clerk.

Proposed Constitutional Amendments to appear on the General Election Ballot

Constitutional Amendment A

Following is the ballot language of Constitutional Amendment A as it will appear on the 2024 General Election ballot:

The adoption of this amendment would separate residential real property into its own class of property for purposes of property tax assessments. The amendment would authorize the legislature to create a subclass of owner occupied primary residences.

BALLOT PROPOSITIONS TO APPEAR ON THE GENERAL

ELECTION BALLOT:

Proposed Ballot Proposition No. 1

Specific Purpose Tax Proposition

There is one (1) proposition proposed for funding through a 1% Specific Purpose Sales and Use Tax.

Shall Crook County be authorized to impose an additional one percent (1%) Specific Purpose Sales and Use Tax, within Crook County, to be used and applied for funding the specified purposes provided below in the specified amounts knowing that the tax will end when the amount is collected and cannot be used for ordinary operation of local government:

PROPOSITION

To collect a total, not to exceed $15,000,000.00 and interest earned thereon for the following projects knowing that this tax will end when this amount is collected:

a.$3,000,000.00 to the Town of Hulett for purchase of equipment for the public works department; for improvements to streets, curbs and sidewalks, for replacement, extension, enlargement and improvement of water and sewer systems, and for other infrastructure improvements, including design and engineering for each purpose; and for early retirement of debt incurred for previous street, water and sewer projects.

b. $3,000,000 to the Town of Moorcroft for improvements to streets, sewer, water, and other infrastructure, including design and engineering for each purpose, and for maintenance, repairs, and improvements to the Moorcroft Town Center, Moorcroft parks, and for the early retirement of debt incurred for prior street, water and sewer projects.

c. $3,000,000.00 to the Town of Pine Haven for replacement, enlargement and extension to water and sewer systems, improvements to streets and drainage, and other infrastructure projects, including design and engineering for each purpose; and for EMS and Fire Department Equipment.

d. $3,000,000.00 to the City of Sundance for street improvement, sewer, water and lagoon upgrades, including design and engineering, and other infrastructure improvements, and for early retirement of debt incurred for previous street, water and sewer projects.

e. $3,000,000.00 to Crook County to purchase Road and Bridge equipment and construction materials to rebuild county roads; and remodel the courthouse to extend its useful life.

Proposed Ballot Proposition No. 2

Crook County Senior Citizen Service District

Proposed continuance of the Crook County Senior Citizen Service District tax- “Shall the Board of County Commissioners of Crook County, Wyoming be authorized to continue to impose a levy of one (1) mill upon the taxable property of the district, pursuant to Wyoming Statute 18-15-102(d).”

CAMPAIGN REPORTING REQUIREMENTS

All Candidates, Committees and Political Action Committees, must file a Statement of Contributions and Expenditures by October 29, 2024. Candidates for county and municipal offices file with the County Clerk. State or legislative candidates file with the Secretary of State.

The Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. through 7:00 p.m. on the day of the election. Absentee ballots will be available, except on Election Day.

Registration is permissible on Election Day. ID is required to register.
