Our Thanks
Thank you to all of our family, friends, and neighbors who came to fight the fire on John Creek south of our house on June 11.
Thank you for bringing your big equipment to build trails around the fire and smooth roads so vehicles could get into the fire area.
Thank you for bringing food and water for the firefighters.
Thank you to all of the local firefighter units, as well as the 100 personnel from various agencies including Crook County Fire and multiple county fire departments, such as Colorado State Forestry, Wyoming State Forestry Division, State of South Dakota, BIA, BLM, Forest Service and all other units who came.
We really appreciate your quick response and the community working together.
Thank you,
Tim and Joy Bell Moore and Family
Tom Moore
Our Thanks
On behalf of the Kara Circle Windy Way Improvement and Service District (KCWWISD) board of directors, I would like to publicly thank and recognize the following for their outstanding assistance during the fires on Saturday, July 6 and Tuesday-Wednesday, July 11-12:
• Crook County and Sundance Volunteer Fire Department for their rapid response, professionalism and expert work.
• Residents of KCWWISD and neighbors throughout Crook County for your time, effort, dedication and selflessness on our behalf.
• Dallas Rolf’s expertise in directing the firefighters.
• US Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management for equipment and manpower.
• Powder River Energy Corporation for monitoring electrical hazards on site.
• Airdrop pilots and coordinators of spotter airplanes, fire retardant delivery planes and helicopters.
• Crook County Sheriff’s Department for notifying house to house of the seriousness and possible evacuation of houses, families and livestock on Kara Circle and Windy Way.
• Local families (to include a special thank you to Lily and Willow Lindholm and Dana Hawk) for sandwiches, food and beverages through the long, hot hours of fighting the fire.
Many thanks to all those great men and women who dropped everything and came speeding to fight the fire immediately, and those who stayed on site into the long hours of firefighting and into dark, overnight, and continued the next day.
Your assistance is greatly appreciated, and mere words cannot fully express our deepest gratitude to everyone that helped fight the fires.
