Three Sundance boys, Elmer Smith, Will Hawken and Raymond Sterns, left Monday for the military training camp at Salt Lake.

The statement in this issue of the Times regarding Grook County and why it is out of debt with a minimum tax levy, is one of the most remarkable exposures of true economy to be found in the United States. First published in the Dakota Farmer, this article has been widely copied and serves as one of the best boosts that Crook County could wish for. Prospects for REA power in Sundance looked brighter this week as officials of the Tri-County Electric association predicted that the REA lines would be in Sundance about July 1. It is also expected that the town will be using current carried by the new lines by July 15. Wire on the line from Upton to Sundance was being strung this week. The crews had completed six miles of the work in the first two days, Monday and Tuesday.

Over $1300 has been raised by the residents of the Oshoto, Stroner, New Haven and Rocky Point communities to gravel the portion of the "D" road in that part of Crook County. The committee in charge of petitioning the residents of the communities said that the road would be graveled from the "Y" four miles south of Oshoto as far north as available funds would permit. The group will receive some aid from the county but the exact amount of this aid will not be known until sometime in July.

Northwest College in Powell was the setting for the 57th annual session of the American Legion Auxiliary Girls' State last week. One hundred seventy-five outstanding young women from across the state were in attendance. Julie Johnson from Hulett was elected governor of the group, and Sydne Clark, also from Hulett, was elected as the Federalist Party's co-leader. Sundance's Ruth Mackey served as water commissioner and Mikkelina Swenson, Sundance, was an election judge.
