Paddle in the Park starts this week

Keyhole State Park will be offering its popular "Paddle in the Park" events again this summer, an opportunity to learn new skills relating to kayaking, paddle boarding and staying safe on the water – all while having fun!

Alternatively, the events provide visitors who may already be experienced in the basics of kayaking and paddle boarding the access to hone their skills in a new location.

During the Paddle in the Park events, all watercraft and life jacket supplies are provided free of charge. Visitors can choose from youth kayaks, adult kayaks and paddle boards. The event will be moving locations throughout the summer to provide a unique experience each time for repeat visitors.

Dates include Friday, June 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Tatanka Boat Ramp, Saturday, July 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Rocky Point Day Use Area, Friday, August 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bay's End Area of Coulter Bay and Sunday, September 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Tatanka Boat Ramp.

Registering ahead of time is highly recommended to ensure that the visitor will have their desired equipment, and Park Staff can more easily plan for the safety needs of the group. Those wishing to attend can register at wyoparks.info/keyholepitp.

Interpretive Rangers will be present at the event, but no certified lifeguards will be on duty. Specific questions can be directed to [email protected].
