Continuing the Crook County News Since 1884
Crook County will again transform into one giant yard sale next weekend, as the three-day annual Junkin’ Weekend gets underway.
Look for a bargain, find the perfect gift or simply browse locations all across the county until something strikes your fancy.
The Junkin’ vendors will be spread around the area, with stops available in and around all four municipalities.
Garage and yard sales are a summer staple, but the Junkin’ Weekend aims to bring them all together for the convenience of bargain hunters and vendors alike.
To do this, Crook County’s local chambers of commerce teamed up in 2019 to introduce a single event that spans one weekend at the beginning of summer.
Items you can expect to find along your road trip adventure range from household and baby goods to furniture, crafts, clothes, antiques, books and collectibles.
Most stops are individual vendors, but three will be communal sites. You can find these in Sundance Square next door to Old Stoney; Moorcroft Community Garage Sale on North Big Horn next to the museum; and the Hulett Group Sale in the parking lot of 307 Mercantile.
The Crook County Junkin’ weekend runs from Friday through Sunday (June 7 to 9) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the first two days and 8 a.m. to noon on the Sunday.
However, individual vendors are given leeway to set their own timeslots to offer their wares and so may not be available throughout the whole event.
Check the vendor list at sundancewyoming.com to find addresses, overviews of each vendor’s offerings and opening times at each destination. You can also visit gsalr.com to find the Garage Sale Map App, which will feature all the locations for the event.
