A late spring storm closed roads, dumped snow, caused wrecks and knocked out power to a wide area on Monday. At around 3 a.m., high winds and heavy snow damaged high-voltage distribution lines south of Sundance, according to Powder River Energy, and an attempt to re-route power through Hulett caused an additional outage in northern Crook County at 9:30 a.m. The damage caused a day-long outage that affected an estimated 2800 meters in areas including Sundance, and Beulah, with linemen working through the night and day to fix the damage and get the lights back on.
