Great week for Bulldog golf

The Sundance varsity golf team hosted the Sundance Golf Invite on Friday last week, inviting teams from Upton, Moorcroft, Wright and Niobrara County. The Bulldog golfers fared well as Savanah Peterson took first place for the girls with an overall score of 85.

Teammates Avery Marchant, Karen Ulmer Madeline Fleenor and Gracie Davis were not far behind, finishing in fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh respectively adding to the total team score of 301.

For the boys, Braydon Sanders and Porter Watt led the Bulldog pack as they tied for eighth place with a score of 95. Owen Watt was just three strokes behind, finishing in 13th with a score of 98.

Kole Banhorn, Taigon Barber, Corbin Crowder and Joshua Crews also added to the team score, allowing the Bulldog boys to take the team title with a combined score of 376.

On Monday, the golfers had a short journey to Hulett to golf at Devils Tower. It was here that Savanah Peterson added another first place finish to her score sheet, ending the day with an overall score of 95.

Karen Ulmer and Avery Marchant also finished in the top five, with scores of 101 and 104, respectively. With the help of Madeline Fleenor, Shyla Shoun and Gracie Davis, the Lady Bulldogs edged out Thermopolis, 300 to 306, taking first place as a team. 

On the boys' side, Owen Watt took a respectable second place finish for the course, shooting a 90. Teammate Spencer Lubken was not far behind, shooting an impressive 95, and finishing in fifth place. Porter Watt and Braydon Sanders rounded out the Bulldogs top ten finishers taking seventh and eighth place, respectively. Kole VanHorn, Joshua Crews, Taigon Barber, Klase Hento and Corbin Crowder also helped the Bulldog boys take a first place team finish with an overall score of 386.

The Bulldog golfers will compete at Wright on Friday, and Lusk on Saturday of this week.
