Torrey Lavern Tope was born in Belle Fourche on March 20, 1990, to Jay and Wilma (Allen) Tope. He attended grade school at Billup School in Otter, Montana and Four Oaks in Crook County, Wyoming. He then finished his education being homeschooled with his siblings.
Torrey graduated in 2008. He worked on the family ranches and eventually started his own scrap business in Belle Fourche, which he currently operated.
Torrey loved old trucks, singing karaoke and spending time with his family and friends. He always looked forward to finding new treasures and sharing his finds with others.
Torrey loved all animals but especially owls and he collected owl art. Growing up he was very close with his siblings and they spent most of their time together exploring the outdoors, playing video games and laughing.
He never turned away people in need or those less fortunate than himself. Torrey was always accepting of others. Torrey never let the life challenges of living with Aspergers, seizures and diabetes impact his independence or enthusiasm for life. He will be missed, especially his smile and kindness.
