Kevin Buckmiller passed away unexpectedly at his home in Moorcroft, Wyoming on March 19, 2024. He was 64 years old.
Kevin was born September 30, 1959 in Newcastle, Wyoming to Herbert and Irene (Ames) Buckmiller. He was the second of four children. He attended school in Moorcroft and grew up on the family ranch outside of town.
Kevin began a lifelong career and a love for trucks at an early age when he went to work for Kummerfeld Construction. At that time, he was married to Cathi Hoff and to this union they had one son Brandon Jefferson. They later divorced.
Kevin married Josephine Huck in 1986 and together with her two children moved to South Dakota. He went to college in Rapid City studying Geo Surveying and made the Dean's List the first year.
After college he drove trucks for construction at Ellsworth Air Force Base and later drove commercial trucks across the country. He loved driving truck and seeing new country.
Kevin retired early and moved back to Moorcroft in 2020 to be closer to family.
Kevin is survived by his mother, Irene Buckmiller; sister, Shannon (Clint) Reynolds; brother, Dustin (Melissa) Buckmiller; half-sister, Kali Lake; sister-in-law, Elaine (Dan Grace) Buckmiller; grandson, Braxten Buckmiller; and several nieces and nephews.
Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Buckmiller; son, Brandon Buckmiller; brother, Mike Buckmiller; and his beloved Kitty of 16 years.
