The deputy reports that he was aware of Burrows from previous incidents and knew his home address, so he and a second deputy headed there. As they arrived, they allegedly saw Burrows exiting the driver’s side of a pickup that matched the description given.

The deputies made contact with Burrows and allegedly noticed that he was “unstable while walking”, then fell into the pickup and continued leaning on it.

In addition, the deputies reported noticing the odor of alcohol on his breath, as well as bloodshot eyes and slurred speech.

According to court reports, Burrows admitted to driving and being at the school but claimed he had not had anything to drink. He allegedly claimed to have had a beer on the way home.

Burrows allegedly showed signs of intoxication during sobriety tests. According to court reports, as he was having trouble completing one of the tests, he told the deputies, “Just take me guys”.

At 6:36 p.m., Burrows provided a breath sample that returned an alcohol concentration of 0.18.
