Bank donates for Vore Scholars Program

The Vore Buffalo Jump Foundation received a donation of $2500 from Sundance State Bank to assist with funding for the Vore Scholars Program. Each semester for the past five years, the VBJF has provided stipends for two University of Wyoming undergraduates who work with staff at the University of Wyoming Archaeological Repository to properly store and do research on the artifacts removed from the Vore Site. The Vore Site was used as a bison trap by Native American hunters from about 1550 to about 1800. Excavations at the site have yielded about 22,000 artifacts, mostly bison bone, but also many stone and bone tools.
