CCMSD introduces clinic manager

A new clinics manager has joined the team in Sundance. Melaynee Trandahl, RN BSN, was a twelve-year veteran of Crook County Medical Services District (CCMSD) before stepping into the role of overseeing management of the clinic.

In a press release, CCMSD said it was pleased to have, "Appointed a well-educated and long serving member of the team to the role of Clinics Manager."

The role itself has also been changed, according to the press release, with the goal of promoting increased accessibility and responsiveness within the clinic, as well as openness to the community.

This move is in line with goals that CCMSD has been working on for some time, after an issue of "bottlenecking" was first identified at the end of 2022, keeping the number of patients served at a lower level than the district liked.

CEO Micki Lyons at that time stated that she knew waiting times for appointments were an issue and would be looking into training, policy changes and other improvements.

Over the next year, management scrutinized the process of seeing patients from check-in through to visiting with their provider, looking for ways to improve the process to enable providers to see more patients. In November, Lyons reported that CCMSD has been making strides in fixing the issue.

The addition of Trandahl, according to the press release, will see "exciting changes" made to the role with an eye towards these same goals.

Trandahl joined the district in 2012 as a registered nurse and has been the Acute Care Supervisor since 2022.

"While working full time at CCMSD, Melaynee is simultaneously finishing her Nurse Practitioners degree. Bringing that wealth of knowledge and management experience as well as being a member of our great community will allow for a greater continuity of care in the CCMSD clinics," states the press release.
