Grapplers take on Belle Fourche Invite

This past weekend, the Bulldog wrestling team participated in the 22-team Belle Fourche Invitational. This tournament brings in most of the teams in Western South Dakota and Eastern Wyoming.

Pacing the boys was Senior Karter Mayberry, who finished in fifth place with a 4-2 record, which included four first period pins. Sundance had no other placewinners.

Records of other participants were Tel Marchant 1-2 at 113 lbs., Lyman Halverson 1-0 at 120 lbs. (injured following the match and did not continue), Cameron Fouch 0-2 on the day in his first competition on the year and Wyatt Flahaven 0-2 at 150 lbs. On the girls’ side of the bracket, Shyla Shoun finished 0-2 on the day at 135 lbs.

This week the Sundance grapplers will be at Newell on Tuesday the 30th at the Newell scramble followed by the 20-team Hill City Invitational on Sat., Feb. 3.
