The Bear Lodge trail system sits unusable Tuesday as the area continues to experience unseasonably warm and dry conditions. Grooming, which is usually in full swing by the end of December, has not commenced this season due to the lack of snow. Crook County is currently once again listed as abnormally dry by the U.S. Drought Monitor, with significantly less precipitation than usual predicted for the next month.
