Dick William Graham

Dick William Graham went to be with his Lord and Savior, on January 9, 2024, after a courageous fight against AML.

Dick was born April 4, 1948, or as he would say 4-4-48, to Joe and Eunice (Prell) Graham and welcomed home to the ranch by his big brother, Joe, known by everyone else as Dave. He attended country school until the sixth grade and then he continued his education in Moorcroft, Wyoming.

Dick was an athlete competing in football, basketball and track. During his time as an athlete, he received many awards and accomplishments. He was also an FFA member and a member of the Letterman's Club.

Dick met the love of his life, Janet Kay (Thompson) in Junior High, they dated through high school and got married on January 25, 1968.

Dick and Janet raised their three children Amy, Jeff and Jenni, on the family ranch down Inyan Kara, and later raised their twin grandchildren, Cole and Cora Rae Fitzgerald. He took great pride in being a dad and watching his children grow, all while teaching them the cowboy way.

Dick's nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren were his life, he loved spoiling and supporting them. Papa and Gram traveled all over the state of Wyoming and South Dakota being their biggest fans. Dick was a lifetime supporter of the Moorcroft Athletic Programs, Whitcomb FFA, Crook County Fair and local youth rodeo organizations.

Dick loved the ranch and took pride in raising his cattle herd, the yearlings being his pride and joy. Even though AML was taking over his body, he found the strength and faith to walk outside and drive his John Deere wheelchair to check on his cows and land, and to line the boys out for the day.

Dick could make any job look effortless because of his work ethic and gentle nature, being known as the best gateman and corral hand. He lived life to the fullest, reminding everyone they had a shoulder to cry on, arms to run to and a heart of love.

Dick is watching over his loving wife of 56 years, Janet, daughter Amy (Randy) Rathbun of Gillette, Wyoming and her children Larissa of Gillette, Cole (Ashton) Fitzgerald of Newcastle, Wyoming (sons Joe and Strait) and Cora Rae Fitzgerald of Lusk, Wyoming; son, Jeff (Shelane) Graham and their children Jade and Sage of Hereford, South Dakota and Sanden (deployed); daughter, Jenni (Gabe) Gill and their children Kailee, Lani and Addi of Inyan Kara; his best friends, brother, David Joe and special sister-in-law Sharon Ann (Thompson) Graham and their two sons, Scott (Shayla) Graham and families and Marty (Tina) Graham and families. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and countless family members, friends and neighbors.

Dick is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Eunice Graham; his in-laws, Don and Marj Thompson; and his son-in-law, Joe Fitzgerald, along with many other family and friends.

A memorial has been established in his name.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at the Moorcroft Town Center Gymnasium in Moorcroft. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the gymnasium. Burial will take place at the ranch at a later date.

Arrangements are under the care of Fidler-Roberts & Isburg Funeral Chapel of Sundance. Online condolences may be written at http://www.fidler-isburgfuneralchapels.com
