John Widdoss, ARA, of Spearfish, South Dakota, has been presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ASFMRA). This recognition follows last year’s achievement, in which John was selected as the winner of the ASFMRA’s D. Howard Doane Award.
These awards are some of the most prestigious that the ASFMRA bestows, with the Lifetime Achievement Award recognizing individuals who have made lasting differences and shaped the fabric of the rural property professions. Meanwhile, the D. Howard Doane Award honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions in the field of agriculture with emphasis on farm management and rural appraisal.
“We are honored to present John with these awards, as he’s made an immeasurable impact not just on the ASFMRA, but the entire appraisal profession,” stated Tony Toso, ARA, and President of the ASFMRA. “He has influenced our methodologies and has always pushed for innovation in the Society’s educational offerings.”
“John has also instructed hundreds of students who will attest not only to his expertise, but also to his extraordinary willingness to help those who are new to the profession.”
In addition to his educational contributions, John was a driving force in the development of the AgWare software that has enabled rural appraisers across the country to work more efficiently.
