Keith Haagensen, Sr., 83 of Sundance, Wyoming, passed away, Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Crook County Memorial Hospital.
Keith Sr. was born February 8, 1940 in Elizabeth, Colorado, to Oswald and Veva (McLean) Haagensen. He was raised in Colorado and graduated from Pierce High School. Keith Sr. began working for a saddle company and later worked as a carpenter.
In 1965, Keith Sr. married Verna White and started their family. Keith Jr. was born in 1966, followed by four other children: Bud, Janna, Casey and Mildred. They raised their family in Nunn, Colorado.
The family moved back and forth from Colorado to Wyoming for many years. In later years they settled in Sundance.
In 1969, he worked at the hospital in Gillette, Wyoming, long before it moved to its current location. While in Nunn, he became a bridge inspector for Weld County. He also worked for Medicine Bow Forest Service for 12 years, where he enjoyed driving into the Snowy Range and seeing all the wildlife. While in Sundance he worked for Dick and Helen (R&H Enterprises) building fences and pulling weeds.
Keith Sr. loved to work with leather, walking sticks and many other crafts. His pride and joy was spending time with his family. The Silent Assassin burger at the Longhorn Saloon and Grill in Sundance was named after him for his quiet but quick ability to get things done.
Keith Sr. is survived by his children; Keith Jr. (Bobbie), Bud, Janna (Glenn) and Casey, grandchildren; Kirsten (Jon), Bud (Jackie), Kelsey (Spud), Michael, Tommy, Mystee and Mariah and eleven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Verna, parents, Oswald and Veva, brother, Howard, daughter, Mildred and granddaughter, Patty.
Memorial services are planned for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Fidler-Roberts & Isburg Funeral Chapel in Sundance.
