LaVerne Jannette Bennett

LaVerne Jannette Bennett passed away November 10, 2023, in Chyenne, Wyoming, at the age of 89, surrounded by her sons and other family members.

LaVerne was born October 29, 1934 in Sundance, Wyoming and was a Sundance High School graduate.

Laverne was preceded in death by her husband, Orvin of 68 years; her parents, Charlie and Kate Donaldson of Sundance; and her brother, Raymond.

Laverne worked for many years in the Converse County Sheriff's office in Douglas, Wyoming, before moving to Story, Wyoming. Later, Orvin and Laverne lived at Primrose retirement center in Cheyenne for the past seven years. They were one of the first families to move in after it opened.

Laverne's ashes will be scattered on the property of the family cabin in Story, where her husband's ashes were scattered earlier this year.

LaVerne is survived by her three sons, Albert (and his wife, Ella), Vernon and Mark (and his wife, Billie Jo); four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
