Betty Louise Phillips

Betty Louise (Carter) Phillips went to be with our Lord and Savior on November 7, 2023 with her loving daughters and son-in-law by her side.

Betty was born on October 12, 1940 in Kingstree, South Carolina, the seventh child of nine to Herbert and Hattie Carter. She spent her childhood in Kingstree on a cotton and tobacco farm with five brothers and two sisters (one brother passed as an infant.) She helped with the family gardens and taking care of her younger siblings.

In the late 1950s, Betty moved to Casper, Wyoming and met Clarence Phillips and fell in love. They were married in Casper on November 4, 1961. They spent 13 years in Casper and in 1974 they moved to Sundance, Wyoming to start up an Electrical Co with two other families.

Betty worked various jobs throughout her life but her most enjoyable job was working in the hardware store in Battle Mountain, Nevada. She enjoyed reading, golfing, bowling, putting together jigsaw puzzles and oil painting, of which she was very accomplished.

She was an exceptional seamstress and made various outfits for her daughters and others in the community. Her foremost enjoyment was spending time with all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Betty will be dearly missed by her daughters, Belinda (Cliff) Hill, Cheryl Shamion and Janice Phillips; her grandchildren, Todd (Vanessa) Gregson, Ashley Hill, Megan Moehr, Sarah (Luke) Jannsen, Jon (Kristen) Shamion; her ten great grandchildren, Joey and Taren Gregson, Austin, Steven and Brooklyn Moehr, Bexley, Sutton and Emmitt Shamion, Bryson and Halle Jannsen; and her sister Lucy Huntz.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; her grandson, Seth Shamion; parents; six brothers and one sister.

A graveside service for family and close friends will be held.
