Continuing the Crook County News Since 1884
It was a cool, calm and cloudy night in Sundance last Friday, as the Patriots hosted the Torrington Trailblazers. With the initial kickoff, the Trailblazers wasted no time marching their way down the field and into the end zone, setting the tone for the night.
A stout defense complemented the dominating offense as Torrington held the Patriots scoreless in the first half of play. Trailing 21-0 at the half, the Patriots struggled to gain positive yardage on offense or find a way to slow the Trailblazers on defense.
Torrington continued to dominate throughout the second half, scoring two more times and taking a 35-0 lead into the fourth quarter before the Patriots would make their way onto the scoreboard as Keaton Mills found Eli Gill for an eight-yard passing touchdown. Overall, it was a tough go for the Upton-Sundance Patriots who ended the evening with a 35-6 loss to the Torrington Trailblazers.
With this loss, the Patriots move to a 3-4 overall record and 2-4 in the conference. The team will close out the regular season this week as they travel to Glenrock on Friday to face the Herders.
