Joe Duvall at the age of 71 died Wednesday October 4, 2023 at his home in Spearfish, South Dakota, with his loving wife by his side, after a long battle with cancer.
Joe was born in his family home in Sundance, Wyoming, on October 13, 1951, to Dillard and Freda Duvall. He was one of ten children and his sweet Mama left all her family in England to raise her family.
Joe was married at a young age to Wanda Longland. From this union he was blessed with three wonderful children.
He later married the love of his life Carol and within in this marriage they were blessed with two more wonderful children. Joe and Carol enjoyed raising all five of the children.
Joe loved to camp and hike with his wife, dogs and family one of his favorite spots was Sand Creek. This was by far his favorite place to relax.
His children brought him great joy through his life. He was an amazing husband, father, uncle, friend and man.
He was a very sweet person and loved with all he had. He was loved and enjoyed by every child he met, always making sure every child felt special.
He really enjoyed watching and going to the Minnesota Vikings games. He was a huge fan.
He is survived by his wife Carol and his five children. From the five children he was blessed with nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, who enjoyed every minute he had with them all.
He is also survived by his siblings, Mary, Pat, Peggy, Danny, Kathy and Becky all from Gillette, Wyoming, Dillard of Rapid City, South Dakota, Jackie from Ft. James, California and many nieces and nephews.
Joe will be greatly missed by all that have known him. May Jesus take his hand and watch over all who loved him.
He was preceded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents along with his father, mother, brother Mike and son-in-law Jason Crouch.
Funeral services were held at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish on October 10 with Jennifer Young officiating. Lunch followed at the VFW in Spearfish. Following was the burial at Green Mountain Cemetery in Sundance.
