Marshall Earl Osloond

Marshall Earl Osloond, 39 of Rapid City, South Dakota, died in a car accident East of Spearfish on October 5, 2023.

Marshall was born November 7, 1983, in Belle Fourche, South Dakota, to Jim and Marsha Osloond. He graduated from Belle Fourche High School in 2002.

Marshall enlisted in the National Guard and went to basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, in 2002 and was honorably discharged in 2009. He attended college at Black Hills State and Northern State University where he graduated as a certified teacher in special education.

Marshall taught special education in Rapid City for seven years and most recently was teaching in Hot Springs High School Special Education.

Marshall touched a lot of lives, he was kind, caring, generous and had a big heart. His passion was football.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Grateful for sharing his life are his parents, Jim and Marsha Osloond of Belle Fourche; his dogs, Frost and Frasier; his aunts, Carloyn (Bob) Traub and Marilyn Jones; his uncles, Kelly (Debbie) Jones and Douglas (Jan) Nyholm; and many cousins.

A Celebration of Life was held Wednesday, October 11 at the Connection Church in Belle Fourche with pastor Stephen Carson officiating. Inurnment followed at Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche.

The family suggests memorials to the Cornerstone Mission in Rapid City or to the Humane Society of the Black Hills in Rapid City.
