Sundance Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting its annual open house this weekend, a chance to support your volunteers while indulging in food, fun and fire prevention activities.
Among the opportunities on offer for the community during the day-long event are three fire prevention demonstrations. The first is CPR and AED training at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., the second is use of fire extinguishers at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and the third is “Jaws of Life Jenga” at noon and 3 p.m.
Other activities that will take place throughout the day include fire house water spray, a strider bike course, fire safety trivia, fire truck rides and a smoke house simulation. Door prizes will be available for kids, as well as a raffle, and the department will be giving away fire alarms on request.
Free food will be available, including pulled pork and sloppy joes, baked beans, potato and macaroni salads and sodas or water.
This is one of the department’s major fundraisers for the year and all donations are welcomed.
Representatives from the emergency services with whom the department works will also be on hand, including the U.S. Forest Service, Crook County Sheriff’s Department, Sundance EMS, the Crook County Fire Warden and Wyoming Highway Patrol.
