Lady Bulldogs open season strong

The Sundance Lady Bulldogs opened their 2023 volleyball season competing in the Dogger Invitational in Lingle this past weekend. The Lady Bulldogs came out with a winning record, sweeping Lusk, Lingle-Ft. Laramie, and Rock River two games to none.

The team faltered momentarily as they faced Pine Bluffs, losing the second game, but the Lady Bulldogs regained momentum and took the set two games to one. Jaylin Mills and Lexie Marchant dominated the offensive play at the net, throwing down 36 and 25 kills respectively, for the weekend.

Teammate Hailey Karol also put her mark at the net as she racked up 12 blocks throughout the tournament.

"This is a great group of girls," head coach Chelsey Blasczyk stated. "We are young but the girls have a team-first mentality, which will be a joy to coach. Our first tournament was a success and we are looking forward to more competition and challenges next weekend."

The Lady Bulldogs will be up against some tough competition this weekend as they travel to Gillette on Friday and Saturday to compete in the Gillette Tournament.
