July 26, 1923
J.F. Chaffin made proof on his homestead entry Monday before R.D. Thomas. Oliver Boone and Tom Lytle were his witnesses.
Although there is still a shortage of stone masons on the high school job in Sundance, work is progressing very satisfactorily and the foundation walls begin to give promise of the splendid structure in view. The corner stone was delivered on the ground Saturday, Leo Boone bringing it in by truck from the Tower. This important detail of the building is a slab of the Devils Tower structure and is a fine selection of flinty basalt. The rock has a surface about three feet square, with a width of eighteen inches. It weighs close to a ton and will be placed in position with a derrick.

July 22, 1948
Sunday, August 1 a horseshoe pitching contest, open to all contestants will be held and lunch will be available at Farrall hall. Ice cream, cake, pop, sandwiches and coffee will be served by the ladies of the Redwater Homemakers Club, who are sponsoring the event. All money raised will be donated to the Crook County Hospital fund.
The C.D. Roberts Implement Company in Sundance will have on display, Friday, for that one day only, a John Deere Model B tractor, whish has been cut down to show all of the working parts. This tractor can be seen at the John Deere showroom and is open to inspection by the public.

July 19, 1973
Kim Sprague and Doug Wegner each won tow prizes in the Big Fish Contest held last Saturday. The contest had 11 contestants. David Farrell won a chain stringer for being the youngest fisherman.
John Moline was re-elected chairman of the Crook County School District No. One School Board at a special meeting July 9. Other officers elected were William Semlek, vice-chairman; Charles Kottraba, clerk; Cleo Roberts, treasurer.

Ron Harper, representing Powder River Energy Corporation in Sundance has been selected to serve on Governor Geringer’s Wyoming Crude Oil Task Force. Gov. Geringer recently announced the formation of the task force, which is a committee made up of representatives from the oil industry and the State of Wyoming. Harper is one of 21 people and organizations throughout the state selected to work on the many issues facing Wyoming’s oil industry.
