American Legion Post 45

On May 16, 2023 at 6 p.m., we’re holding a meeting at the Sundance Senior Center to consider rebuilding Post 45.

I would like to see all vets at the meeting, even if you’re not a member of the American Legion or VFW. You’ll be there to consider programs for the upcoming Armed Forces Day and Memorial Day, May 20 and May 29.

It’s our job as vets to remind the people of Sundance, of those who are not with us, so someday when we aren’t here, WE will be remembered.

Brett, who’s in charge of Boys State in Wyoming, sent me an application from a young high school student in Sundance who applied for Boys State, something the American Legion is known for. However, he had to apply to the Laramie Post, as we don’t have one in Sundance.

I also received a call today from a young vet while writing this article, his name is Travis and we talked for 20 minutes.

He said, “I may not always be available for meetings, but will join the American Legion to support the Post, and then, when possible, I’ll work on any Post projects.”

I can’t say it any better than he just did. Your call, vets.
