And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Galatians 6:9
We all have been tired and exhausted or soon will be. Weariness is a state of being that although is not uncommon, is never intended to be a set position in life.
This condition goes much deeper than just being physical. It is that which has the capability to steal hope and gut the soul. This leads to weakness and produces vulnerability. The Apostle Paul encourages a continuing in doing good with the realization that in Jesus Christ no heart is ever lost.
Weary. Tired, exhausted, fatigued, drained, wiped out. Disillusioned, worn down, disenchanted and desperate.
Greek: ekkakéō, ek-kak-eh’-o; from and to be (bad or) weak, i.e. (by implication) to fail (in heart):—faint, be weary.
• To be utterly spiritless, to be wearied out, exhausted.
Weariness is many things. The main thing is that it is fully capable of destroying lives.
A weary soul, is that which debilitates, robs and empties life of meaning and purpose.
The cure for emptiness of the soul is filling by the One who made and provided it. Resurrection Sunday aka Easter Sunday is where weariness in doing good was reaped. The harvest of souls before and after, the empty tomb finding and filling hearts to the full.
Death was dealt an eternal blow and life eternal revealed. Jesus’ resurrection is the realization that although securing the harvest may not be in our timing, it will be obtained. Not how we often see as the best, but better.
Much of life can be spent worn down, desperate and disenchanted. The doing of good and receiving nothing but bad.
Giving and being taken, speaking the truth and being beaten by the lies. Jesus Christ took all that upon Him at the cross and breathed life back into a world that is under the curse of sin. Beauty for bad, good for evil, life for death and Him for you. The Resurrection of Jesus still is the ultimate and only way to provide life for a failing heart.
Standing.
Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God;
For I shall yet praise Him, The help (salvation) of my countenance and my God. ~Psalm 43:5
