Take firm (strong) hold of instruction, do not let go; keep her, for she is your life (Prov. 4:13).
There are certain things in life that are good to hold on to. They are helpful, hopeful and heartful. The Bible is very good at showing what to keep (in memory), possess, retain, seize on and detain. These are necessary and essential items to assist in navigating life as they help in clearing the obstacles placed in our way. Here are several, may they hold you firm, fast and strong in HIM.
Test (examine, prove) all things; hold fast what is good (1 Thes. 5:21).
• In examining things, you prove through God’s Word what is good to possess and practice.
The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace (Ex. 14:14).
• God’s protection requires our ability to maintain/seize our peace for His process to do what is required.
For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’ (Isaiah 41:13).
• For those who believe in God, He is there to hold your hand, reassuring you of His continual presence.
“I, the Lord, have called You in righteousness, and will hold Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, as a light to the Gentiles (Isaiah 42:6).
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses (Tim. 6:12).
• Believers are engaged in a war against Satan. It is to what Christians are called.
For we have become partakers (sharing) of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence (foundation, actual existence) steadfast to the end (Hebrews 3:6;14).
• Christians must be involved with Christ to retain all from beginning to the end.
Let us hold fast the confession (profess to be ours) of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful (Hebrews 10:23).
Holding.
