Celebrating National FCCLA Week

The Sundance High school FCCLA group has been very busy throughout the 2022-2023 school year. There are 25 members in this year's Chapter.

Members started off with selling coffee cakes as a fundraiser for the fall leadership conference in Casper. We had 15 members attend a leadership conference where they learned about different leadership skills to show throughout the chapter and school.

Freshman Jaylin Mills had the opportunity to be a district officer this year and helped organize and run the fall conference. This year's service activities included a variety of things such as chapter members frosting Christmas cookies for the nursing home and the food pantry.

For fun, we had a secret Santa Christmas party and gift exchange. We are having a silent auction on February 14.

We are currently getting ready for the state convention. Members' projects that will be presented at state include:

• Jade Weaver had a bake sale and donated the prophet of $450 between the Crook County Sheriff's Office, volunteer fire department and hospital.

• Mary Villegas and Arianna Neiman are doing a "Focus on Children" project.

• Kim Fowler and Holden Ayer are making dog beds for the Western Hills Humane Society.

• Blakely Gill and Jaylin Mills are making bird feeders for the residents at the nursing home.

To celebrate FCCLA week, we are doing the following:

Monday – FCCLA themed Kahoot

Tuesday – "Heart Day"

Wednesday – balloon drop

Thursday – cookie social
