Returns yesterday morning made positive the re-election of Senator John B. Kendrick over Hon. Frank W. Mondell by a majority exceeding three thousand. In Crook County, the democrats have elected Lee McWethy over Earl Banks for treasurer, and possibly Thos. A. Nicholas will lose to Bert Waddell, as J.A. Stewart leads by eleven votes.

Road conditions have somewhat interfered with the mails this week. John Semsey started to Spearfish with the Dodge Monday but after making about seven miles returned to Sundance for horses. The Upton line has connected quite regularly, using two teams.

An antlered doe deer, a rare specimen of the deer family, was shot and killed Wednesday of last week by Maurice Classick of Sundance in the vicinity of the old Reuter Springs C.C. camp near Sundance. In the process of killing the doe deer, Classick shot away one side of the horns but the other was intact and had small forks. It was a mature white tail doe deer. The antlers of the deer were still in the velvet. This, it is pointed out, is usual where an antlered doe is found. It is not unusual for a doe antelope to have antlers, but it is very, very seldom that a doe deer carries them.

A J.D. Sampson truck loaded with logs slid off the Aladdin-Sundance Road Saturday and overturned. The driver, Frank McClelland, was unhurt and not much damage was done to the truck. The logs were being hauled from Pattinsons to Sundance for Hart Brothers.

A $750,000 school bond issue, which will build a new Sundance elementary school, went to the voters Tuesday and emerged a winner, 1110-1032. A heavy Crook County Election Day turnout of 2142 voters went to the polls and the result was a Republican avalanche of votes in the county. In the only race concerning a county office, Moorcroft Republican Tom Davis won election by defeating Dell B. Evans, Oshoto Democrat, 1304-761. U.S. Representative Teno Roncalio, who was successful in his re-election bid, was outscored in the county by Republican Bill Kidd, 1387-695.
