Kathleen Ann Shamion passed away peacefully at her home in Sundance, Wyoming, on October 20, 2022, and went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ, at the age of 82 years.
Kathleen was happily married for 64 years to Robert John Shamion. They wed on August 16, 1958.
Kathleen was born in Stambaugh, Michigan on April 6, 1940. In 1958, she graduated from Iron River High School and continued on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Education from Black Hills State University, with Suma Cum Laude Honors in December of 1987.
Her teaching career began in 1988 and she retired from teaching in 2007. Kathy truly loved her teaching career and touched the lives of many of her students.
One of Kathleen's favorite things to do was spending time with her husband, the love of her life. Her hobbies included spending time with her family and friends. She also loved camping, fishing and traveling; however, her most favorite pastime activity was dancing the polka with her husband.
Kathleen survived by her husband, Robert Shamion; five children, Susan Parrie, Laurie (Reg) Forster, Gary (Toby) Shamion, Jeff (Laura) Shamion and Ann (George) Allen; 14 grandchildren, Brian (Chelsey) Parrie, Jennifer (Tom) Tolzien, Timothy (Sara) Parrie, Jeremy (Polly) Parrie, Scott (Ken) Coronet, Holly (Carson) Kawano, Brooke (Dillon) Karajanis, Brandee Forster (Skyler Lee), Kyle (Natishia) Shamion, Colin (Brooklyn) Shamion, Jonathon (Kristen) Shamion, Jadon Shamion, Gaven Allen, Blaine Allen; 26 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, Irving and Nell Crowgey; her son-in-law, Randall Parrie and grandson, Seth Shamion.
A private family service will take place at a later date.
