After a successful run during the summer season, the Sundance creamery closed Saturday owing to the falling off of cream produce. It is expected that another year will develop the cream business so that this institution may continue through the winter.
According to the Record, development work has been commenced by the Homestake people on their coal lands seven miles east of Gillette. A large force of men are now at work digging ditches for the water and sewer mains and also basements for the many buildings the company is going to erect. The operations of the Homestake Company will be to strip the land and do the mining with steam shovels.

October 9, 1947
Lyman Ellsbury and Otto Habeck were victors in the horseshoe pitching contest sponsored by the Redwater Farm Bureau at the Frank Tasuck ranch near Beulah last Sunday. Ellsbury was high scoring individual in the tournament and George Howes second high. Tracy Ellsbury was on the second place team.
Livestock shipping from Moorcroft during the month of September this year, along with other products showed a considerable increase over that of a year ago it has been reported. Cattle shipping alone during September this year reached 165 cars as against 108 for the same period last year.
