Fair week gets underway

Fair week is underway, and the fairgrounds are full to brimming with livestock, exhibits and their owners. On Tuesday, judges were hard at work judging static exhibits, FFA projects and open class, as well as overseeing the public fashion review. Their hard work was rewarded later in the day by the official fair-kick off ice cream social.

Events continue this week with Thursday's animal shows, including sheep, rabbits, cats and pocket pets, and the beef and wool shows on Friday. Upcoming entertainment includes the youth rough stock rodeo on Thursday evening, the free pancake breakfast hosted by the county's elected officials on Friday morning and the Muley Fanatics Family Fun Night on Friday evening.

The fishing derby continues until Friday, while entertainment from Misty and the SandMan Magic and Reptile Adventures will be ongoing through Thursday. Grossenburg Implement will be hosting a customer appreciation dance on Friday night.

Parade Day on Saturday begins with the bike relay, followed by the parade itself to the theme of "Wrangle Up the Fun at the Fair", the crowning of this year's Rodeo Royalty, the buyers' barbecue and the junior livestock sale.
