The Secretary of State’s Office is reminding voters that you’ll need to bring something extra with you to the polls this year: your identification card. As you arrive, you will be asked to provide basic information including your name and address so that poll workers can find your record.
You’ll then be asked to provide an acceptable form of identification before voting, which can include a driver’s license from Wyoming or any other state, a tribal ID card, a valid passport, a U.S. Military card, a University of Wyoming, community college or public school student ID or a valid Medicare or Medicaid insurance card.
If you do not have ID with you, you will still have the option to complete a provisional ballot, which will allow you to vote but means you will need to bring your ID to the County Clerk’s Office by the end of the next business day.
An ID is not required to vote by absentee ballot.
If you do not have an acceptable form of identification, you can obtain a free ID card from your local Driver Services office. To obtain one, you will be asked to provide documents to prove your identity, social security number and current residence.
