Old Glory
I have seen Old Glory flying in the wind after the smoke of attacks clear away. Sandstorms weather my colors in a matter of hours. My heart still fills with pride seeing the “Colors” fly high over this great country.
Flying the flag every day is wonderful, but we still need to show her the respect she deserves. Many flags can be simply hemmed up to three inches and still flown.
Once the brilliant colors of the field or the stripes fade, it is time to retire the flag. Any holes in the flag can be mended unless they are larger than a quarter.
The Crook County Courthouse has a box dedicated just for flags that are ready to be laid to rest. They’re taken to the National Cemetery at Fort Meade for a ceremony.

Dear Editor,
President Trump’s upcoming visit has highlighted for me the political conflict that is currently raging in Wyoming and across the nation. Liberal elites in the Republican and Democrat parties seemed to be advocating for the same public policy development. Obamacare/Romneycare, same public policy!
Cheney and Pelosi both voting to impeach Donald Trump, same public policy. The liberal W.E.A. “Wyoming Education Association” giving Rep. Eric Barlow, the Republican Speaker of the House, the same approval rating as the Democrat members of the Wyoming House of Representatives, signals that the Republican elitists are functionally the same in terms of public policy as their Democrat colleagues.
This leaves the Republicans in Wyoming having to decide who we will vote for in this year’s primary election. Will it be the “climate concerned” Cale Case type Republican or will it be the “employment concerned” John Bear type of Republican?
Will it be the Nancy Pelosi “sound a like” Liz Cheney or the “Trump surrogate” Harriet Hageman? Will Wyoming choose to look to actual conservatives to lead Wyoming into the future or will we continue to support “conservative sounding” yet “liberal voting” Republicans?
The duplicity that has existed within the Republican elitists like Mitt Romney, Liz Cheney, Eric Barlow, Steve Harshman, Albert Sommers and others has caused many Republicans to question whether or not serving in the party is effective in terms of our grassroots activism. I believe that in this primary election every Republican voter needs to take a look at the candidates at every level of the political spectrum.
We need conservative Precinct Committee people and we need conservative House District Representatives. We need conservative Senate District Senators. We need a U.S. Representative that is actually conservative.
The leadership of the Wyoming GOP has been putting up a valiant effort to pressure Republican elected officials to actually support the conservative platforms of the Wyoming Republican Party. I strongly encourage voters get behind your party and vote for candidates that, like Donald Trump, will stand against the elitists. If they can’t stand in support of the party’s ideas, please don’t support them.
Thanks,
Ted Davis
