May 11, 1922
Attorney A. T. Hansen of Osage had a narrow escape from death recently from the effects of a tick bite. The bite of these strange pests seems to be particularly venomous this spring, as several cases of poisoning and fever have been reported. Only last week the editor hereof was bitten and – the wood tick died.
The city election Tuesday resulted in a poll of thirty-six votes, most of which were cast for Edwin Rounds for mayor, H.G. Schloredt and F.G. Davis councilmen, who had no competition.

In reporting activities of the Pocatello Cardinals, a farm club of the St. Louis Cardinals, an Associated Press dispatch had the following to say regarding Kenneth Dudrey of Sundance now with the Cardinal team: “Ken Dudrey, 19-year-old right hander from Sundance, Wyo., should be a regular pitcher starter…”. Dudrey is a graduate of Sundance high school and was an outstanding performer in basketball and football, and was a pitcher for the Sundance ball club.
Miss Patricia Finch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Finch, ranchers near Sundance, became the bride of Lloyd Rolf of Belgrade, Nebraska in a ceremony performed April 24 at Broadus, Montana. They will make their home on the Finch place. The couple made a honeymoon trip into Yellowstone Park.

An emergency meeting of the Crook County Wildlife Association has been scheduled here Friday night, President Ray Buckman said this week. Buckman said the association will discuss a proposed 90-day deer season in the Sand Creek area. He said the proposal was not discussed at the association’s annual meeting in which recommendations were made for the 1972 seasons.
A Sundance youth will be among the members of the University Of Wyoming Outing Club climbing Devils Tower Saturday and Sunday. Among the climbers is Ed Lee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Lee, Sundance. Club members will use the Durrance Route.

The majority of the Sundance City Council meeting was spent discussing several development efforts underway in town. Kathy Lenz, representing the group of business owners interested in developing the appearance of the downtown area, addressed the council. She indicated the group has attempted, over the past several years, to secure state grants for downtown beautification projects.
