Bulldogs take on two big meets

The Sundance Bulldogs competed in two track and field meets this past week, traveling to Rapid City and Douglas. Both meets found the Bulldogs competing against larger schools and both meets saw Bulldog athletes earning finishes in the top eight.

Thrower Bailey Hofland took the top honors for Sundance at both meets in the discus, throwing a personal best, 119-05.

In the running events, teammates Rylie Marchant and Zoe Skeens were neck and neck throughout the 1600m race, where they finished with a second separating them from third and fourth place respectively. The Lady Bulldogs finished the Douglas meet in fourth place out of 12 competing teams. 

The Bulldog boys ran as a pack throughout the 400m race in Douglas as Levi Rudloff, Keaton Mills and Rowdy Downy finished sixth, seventh and eighth, earning points for the Bulldog team. Mills also improved in the high jump, reaching the height of 6-0 and taking a third place finish in the field event.

As a team, the Bulldog boys finished in fifth place out of the 12 teams competing.  

The Bulldogs only have a couple weeks remaining before the regional track meet. They will compete in the Northern Hills Invitational on Tuesday in Belle Fourche and the Scott Hardy Memorial Track Meet on Friday in Wright
