Chamber drops plans for BeerFest

The annual Sundance Beer Festival is no longer. The fall event that has attracted locals and visitors alike to sample craft beers on Main Street since 2014 has been dropped by the Sundance Chamber of Commerce.

“The board voted to cancel Beer Festival from now on due to lack of leadership and interest from businesses that would benefit from the event,” comments Jamie Jessen, Chamber of Commerce.

Sundance Beer Festival was last held in 2019, enjoying another growth in attendance for its sixth year.

It was originally introduced and organized by Reggie Gaylord and Steve Lenz, who continued to spearhead the fun until that year.

After being canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic, it was once again postponed in 2021 due to a lack of volunteers available to spearhead the event.

The Chamber had planned to bring the festival back this year, hopefully with the assistance of volunteers willing to step up and take charge. However, without the needed help, this has not been possible.
