SHS presents musical retelling of Cinderella
What if Cinderella’s stepsisters were nice people after all? Join the students of Sundance High School for a musical comedy next weekend to find out just how wrong the Brothers Grimm got their story.
Stepsisters is a retelling of the famous Cinderella fairytale from the perspective of Drew and Beth, who start the story having been thrown in the dungeon for conspiring against the throne. But are they really wicked and evil?
What if they were just trying to help the tongue-tied prince talk to their sister? What if their mother has even more nefarious plans than just to torture Cinderella with endless housework?
Heading the cast of Stepsisters includes Gracie Davis as the herald, Briska Johnson and Telsie Comer as the stepsisters, Ella Bifulco as Cinderella and Lindsey Fosheim as the wicked stepmother.
Cole Robinson will be portraying the “tad bit awkward” prince, with Dawson Flahaven and Allie Crawford as his royal parents and Tanner Sandford as “all around bad guy” the chancellor.
Performances are scheduled for Friday, April 1 and Saturday, April 2 at 7 p.m., as well as a matinee on Sunday, April 3 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students (under school age is free).
